Summer truly is a busy time of year! It seems everything goes into hyper drive mode: vacations, the 4th of July weekend, and before you know it Labor Day is here and school starts. Several of our Board Members have been busy in June.

The Compensation Committee met on Thursday, June 24th and put together a compensation package for the Executive Director's position, currently held by Bonnie McCleary. The Committee, chaired by John Groettum, will have a proposal in hand for the next Board Meeting in August.

The Convention Committee also met on the same day to begin plans for the Mid-Winter Conference & Trade Show at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel on February 2-4, 2011. Chaired by Dallas Backhaus, committee members Bonnie McCleary, Mark Unruh, Bob Rynda and Sandy Evans, this group is instrumental in implementing this well attended event. The Mid-Winter Conference is the staple of our organization, and we all really appreciate the efforts of this committee.

The Larry Seehusen $1000 Scholarship recipient is Cathy Heying, a student at Dunwoody College of Technology. The recipient of the Vic Leerhoff $1000 Scholarship is James Hueser, Amanda Carlson is the recipient of the NCTDSA $500 Scholarship.

In my last month's "Message From The President," I stated that tickets and maps would be mailed out for the Twins game and picnic. Since we don't want any tickets lost in the mail or forgotten at home, we will distribute them to you when you arrive at the Epic Center for the picnic. Maps and directions will be mailed out.

Travel safe this summer, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the Twins game on Saturday, July 17th.
